SAND: Raiders of Sophie Crafting Recipes
Last reviewed: June 27, 2026 · Early Access — values are patch-sensitive
You craft in two places: at Forts and at the Workshop bench on your Trampler. The Workshop is added to your Trampler after you unlock it in the Tech Tree, letting you craft and repair on the move. Most basic gear is built from Scrap Metal, with rarity upgrades costing more.

Where you craft
| Location | How it works |
|---|---|
| Fort | Fixed crafting points out in the world — available before you've built up your Trampler. |
| Trampler Workshop | A bench you add to your Trampler after unlocking it via the Tech Tree. Lets you craft and repair on the move instead of returning to a Fort. |
Priority tip: unlocking the Workshop early is one of the best quality-of-life upgrades — it turns your Trampler into a self-sufficient mobile crafting base.
The rarity upgrade path
Crafting follows a tiered upgrade loop rather than building top gear from scratch:
- Craft a white (common) item — e.g. a white weapon for 25 Scrap Metal.
- Upgrade it by combining that item with more Scrap Metal to reach the next tier (green, etc.).
- Repeat up the tiers, which demand rarer materials and parts as you climb.

Recipes worth remembering
- White weapon — 25 Scrap Metal. The cheapest, most disposable entry point.
- Pepper Mill Shotgun — the only craftable weapon that uses Fabric instead of Weapon Parts. Your go-to when parts are scarce.
- 40mm Autocannon Shell — roughly 2 Scrapped Ammo + 2 Scrap Metal per batch; the most material-efficient mounted round for Trampler fights.
Full per-item recipes change with patches — treat these as references and confirm current costs in-game.
