SAND: Raiders of Sophie Dreadnought Guide
Last reviewed: June 28, 2026 · Early Access
What is the Dreadnought?
The Dreadnought is a massive, stationary mechanical remnant — a fallen giant on the sands of Sophie. It functions as the server's premium point of interest: the highest loot density, the best exclusive drops, and the most concentrated PvP. Because everyone knows what it holds, expect rival crews camping the perimeter the moment you arrive.
It appears in both Voyage (the standard mode) and Storm Dive (the high-pressure competitive mode). In Storm Dive, the Dreadnought frequently sits near the final circles, which makes the competition for its loot especially brutal.
Dreadnought loot — what's inside
| Item | Rarity | Location inside |
|---|---|---|
| WOK Bomb | Ultra Rare — exclusive here | No longer spawns elsewhere; Dreadnought only |
| Experimental Railgun | Rare mounted weapon | Long-range precision sniping weapon |
| Rare Weapon Crates | Rare | Highest concentration in the lower engineering bays |
| Ancient Artifacts | High value | Scattered through interior compartments |
| Custom Ammo | High value | Interior compartments |
How to raid the Dreadnought (and survive)
Trampler build
Bring a Heavy Fortress build with maximum armor plating — this is not a run for fast, lightweight Tramplers. You will take sustained fire from rivals with 80mm Mounted Cannons camping the perimeter. Protect your reactor at all costs.
Crew size
4–6 players is the recommended crew. Solo and two-man runs are high-risk given how many crews converge here — bring a full team.
Entry tactic
- Go interior first. Enter through interior compartments rather than the perimeter. Rival crews camp the outside with mounted cannons — clearing the inside first gives you a defensible position.
- Bring at least three Repair Kit charges. Sustained Trampler-to-Trampler fights and boarding actions will eat through your repairs fast.
- Hit the lower engineering bays for the highest concentration of Rare Weapon Crates.
Storm Dive timing
The sandstorm closes in over roughly two hours. When it's within 500 metres, abandon remaining loot and extract. The Dreadnought itself is not an extraction point — you must reach a designated orbital extraction point. Don't get greedy and get swallowed by the storm.
Risks to know
- Rival crews routinely camp the perimeter with 80mm Mounted Cannons.
- Boarding actions are common — expect both Trampler combat and on-foot fights inside.
- In Storm Dive, the shrinking circle increases player density, making the Dreadnought even more contested near the end.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the Dreadnought in SAND: Raiders of Sophie?
- A massive wrecked ship — the game's highest-risk, highest-reward loot zone. Contains the exclusive WOK Bomb, Experimental Railgun and Rare Weapon Crates.
- Where is the WOK Bomb found?
- Exclusively on the Dreadnought — it no longer spawns at regular loot locations.
- Is the Dreadnought only in Storm Dive?
- No — it appears in both Voyage and Storm Dive modes. Storm Dive places it near the final circles, making it more contested.
- Can I extract from the Dreadnought?
- No. The Dreadnought is a loot zone, not an extraction point. Reach a designated orbital extraction point to escape with your loot.
